Treatment Adherence
New HIV treatments help HIV+ individuals live healthy, productive lives. HIV treatment can be very difficult to manage, and if medications are not taken exactly as prescribed, at the right time every day, the virus may become resistant. To help you, our TAP nurses:
- visit your home to organize your medications and answer questions
- create personalized strategies for consistently taking medications
- teach you how to minimize the side effects of these powerful drugs
- accompany you to the doctor to help you understand instructions
- lead support groups where you can share experiences and tips
