ESAR CompositePast participants call this ride “challenging and inspirational. A week you’ll never forget.”Join us August 10-16 for a 560-mile journey from Niagara Falls, NY to Battery Park in lower Manhattan.

Whether you’re pedaling a bike for the first time in years or you’re an A-level racer, this intimate ride with a cap of 100 participants is for YOU! Riders from 16 - 65 years have successfully completed this ride. And never fear - you will always be surrounded by an experienced support crew that will pamper you all along the route.

This is a week you will never forget. Our beautiful route takes us through miles of flat orchards, to the rolling vineyards of the Finger Lakes, into the challenging foothills of the Catskills, and then along the Hudson for a memorable ride into Manhattan.

If you are new to cycling this is a great event because it is a ride-not a race! If you train well before the event, you can do it. The ACR SPOKES team has training rides before the August event, so you can ride with your teammates and make sure you’re on track for successful completion. And when the event comes around, if you ever feel that you cannot complete a day’s ride, there are volunteers driving vans who can take you to the next camp.

If you are a racer, this is still the ride for you. Slow down and enjoy the beautiful sites of New York and the camaraderie on the road. Even accomplished tri-athletes say they feel challenged on this ride.

Where do we sleep and eat?

Through the week we camp at sites that have hot showers and real bathrooms (no porta-potties for us!). Your room for a week will be an 8x8 foot tent that is supplied by the ride. It is roomy enough for two people.

All meals are cooked for you and they are amazing! You will be shocked by how well you eat on this trip: BBQ, steaks, local restaurants….including plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices are included.

Fundraising part….

Can you raise the required $3,500? Sure! It’s about as easy as riding your bike across 560 miles of New York State.

You can do it, but it takes persistence and planning. With help from past ACR Spokes team members and the ACR staff, you can reach your goal. The ACR Development Department has been fundraising for years and will help you reach your goals - you will never feel alone.

You will be taking on a physical and financial challenge that will benefit AIDS Community Resources youth HIV prevention program and emergency client needs in 9 counties. Sign up today to get more information about the ride of your life.
