16th Annual AIDS Walk/Run
Sunday, June 1
Registration 8:30 AM, Start Time 10 AM
Beaver Lake Nature Center

Currently in Upstate New York more than 32,247 people have been diagnosed with AIDS. Many do not have the resources they need to survive. AIDS Walk/Run is a 5K walk/ 10K run committed to raising funds that provide direct care to families and individuals living with AIDS, and help support ACR's Adolescent Prevention Programs in area middle and high schools. ACR wants to make sure that people living with HIV/AIDS have the basic things they need (like food, shelter, clothing, medical care and education) to enable them to live out their lives with dignity.

AIDS Walk/Run has raised more than $1,109,000 in the past 15 years. It has become the most significant fundraiser for AIDS in Central New York. The money raised to date has helped ensure the basic needs of people living with HIV/AIDS will be provided.

AIDS Community Resources will hold the 16th Annual AIDS Walk/Run on Sunday, June 1, 2008 with a fundraising goal of $150,000. We expect in excess of 1,000 walkers, runners, and supporters for an event filled with fun.

On June 1st you'll be joining the hundreds of other walkers and runners on the beautiful trails of Beaver Lake Nature Center who have come together to demonstrate the power that one person has in the fight against AIDS. Whether you're proudly wearing a tribute badge in honor of someone, or simply adding your voice to the fight, take the time to enjoy the wonderful food, lively music, and festive atmosphere of the biggest AIDS event in Central New York.

After you've completed the 10K run or 5K walk, stay for the Awards Ceremony as we congratulate the individuals and teams whose fundraising efforts will help give needed financial support to the Adolescent Prevention Programs and Client Support Services programs of AIDS Community Resources.
